More Than Just Treatment

What Termite Protection Includes

Hopper’s termite protection is more than a single treatment—it’s peace of mind. We provide thorough inspections, powerful initial treatments with Termidor, the #1 termiticide on the market, and ongoing monitoring to keep your property safe year after year.

Our plans include a guarantee: if eastern subterranean termites invade a covered structure, we’ll retreat to stop the activity and repair any damage caused by live termites (see your contract for details; repairs are excluded on retreatment-only plans). During annual inspections, our team checks for termite activity and conditions that could lead to future infestations, giving you recommendations to stay protected long-term.

Why we Choose Termidor®

Not all termiticides are created equal. We choose Termidor, the #1 termiticide on the market, because it delivers unmatched termite protection. —providing reliable protection that many other products can’t match. Its non-repellent formula allows termites to unknowingly carry it back to the colony, eliminating the infestation at its source. Fast, effective, and long-lasting, Termidor provides the highest level of protection for your home or business.

KEEP YOUR PROTECTION ACTIVE

Why Renew your Termite Policy

N

Hassle-Free renewals

Even the best termite treatments can wear down over time. Landscaping, foundation work, or other soil disturbances can break the chemical barrier around your home or business, leaving it vulnerable. Regular inspections help catch termite activity early and keep your property protected. Always contact us before any work near your foundation or crawl space—additional treatments may apply if the barrier is disrupted.

N

peace of mind

Termites cause over $5 billion in damage each year, and this isn’t covered by homeowners’ insurance. Renewing your policy not only safeguards your investment, but it’s often required by lenders if you plan to sell. With an active termite policy, you get peace of mind knowing your home or business is protected—and one less thing to worry about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are termites attracted to my property?

Termites are part of nature’s cleanup crew. When they find decaying or dead wood, they think, “Hey, that needs to be cleaned up!” Unfortunately, since our homes are made mostly of wood and other cellulose materials, termites can sometimes mistake our houses for, well—trash.

Two things termites can’t live without are wood and moisture. Structures with moisture issues and plenty of wood create the perfect environment for them to thrive. Termites travel through mud tubes they build from the soil, which help them stay moist and protected while they search for food sources.

Common entry points for termites include:

• Cracks in the foundation
• Plumbing or roof leaks
• Faulty downspouts or gutters
• Sloping ground near the foundation
• Stacked firewood near the home
• Wooden decks or porches
• Landscaping timbers
• Poor ventilation or excess moisture
• Hard foam insulation

I’m buying or selling a home — should there be a termite inspection?

Yes. In most cases, a termite inspection or “clearance letter” is required during the sale or purchase of a home, especially by mortgage lenders. This is one of the many reasons to maintain a termite policy.

If you’re selling your home, you can transfer your existing termite contract to the buyer. We’ll handle the necessary paperwork for closing, with a prorated amount and transfer fee.

If you don’t currently have a termite contract, we’ll be happy to provide an estimate. Please note that under Arkansas Pest Control Law, a termite contract is required before a clearance letter can be issued for real estate transactions.

What can I do to avoid a termite infestation?

1. Keep all wood off the ground.
This starts during construction—no wood supports should ever touch the soil. Decks should be elevated, and support posts should rest on metal or concrete cap blocks at least 3 inches above ground. Avoid using lattice work and landscaping timbers directly on the soil. Firewood should also be stacked off the ground and stored away from the structure.

2. Be careful with mulch.
Termites love mulch for the same reason plants do—it retains moisture. To reduce your risk, consider using rock or gravel instead of mulch near your foundation. If you do use mulch, make sure there’s a clear barrier between it and your home.

3. Fix leaks right away.
Termites thrive in damp areas, so plumbing, roof, or slab leaks can attract them quickly. Address leaks as soon as they’re found, and consider using a dehumidifier in areas prone to moisture to make your home less inviting to termites.

How does Termidor® work?

Termidor® works through what’s called the “Transfer Effect™.” Termites can’t see, smell, or taste it, so they travel through treated areas without knowing it’s there. When they come into contact with Termidor®, they carry it back to the colony and share it with others — spreading it until the entire colony is eliminated. This makes Termidor® one of the most effective and long-lasting termite treatments available.

How can I tell the difference between eastern subterranean termites and ants?

It’s easy to mix them up — especially when they’re swarming — but there are a few simple ways to tell the difference. Termites have straight antennae, a thick waist, and wings that are all the same size. Ants have bent antennae, a narrow “pinched” waist, and two pairs of wings, with the front ones longer than the back.

If you’re not sure what you’re seeing, don’t worry — you’re not alone! A quick inspection from a professional can confirm what you’re dealing with and help you stop a problem before it grows.
